Sanja is a child born from the first, regular pregnancy. The labor was induced but ended with an emergency caesarean section. For that reason she suffered severe perinatal asphyxia due to lack of oxygen. After being reanimated, aspirated and intubated, she was urgently hospitalized at University Children’s Hospital Tiršov, where she fought for life next 72 hours.

The MR showed damage: hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy:

Due to hypotonia and cerebral development, Sanja cannot hold her head, crawl or sit, she is fed through PEG and she is not able to use her hands or to talk.

Although she has difficulties in development, her character shows that she can do much more.

Sanja is, from the eighth month, in a special exercise program made by the American Institute for Human Resources. There are great chances that one day she can become like her peers with persistent work and effort. In order to reach her maximum  and make successful progress, everyday physical, defectological, logopedic and other treatments are necessary.  This altogether requires a lot of financial resources annually so that she can have all needed  treatments.

Sanja is a smiling and happy child who deserves a chance for a better future.
