Milena was diagnosed with dilated myocardiopathy, impaired cardiac muscle, and was referred for a heart transplantation. This brave girl had a heart transplantation in Berlin in 2003 and four catheterizations. Since then Milena goes to Berlin several times a year for regular check-ups.

It is necessary to go for a check-up again and her family can not afford. The medical examination should determine the ability of the heart muscle to function properly through a series of analyzes. Doctors will perform a complete blood test and also special test  that are usually done  after the  transplantation. Special agents for testing Epstein barr virus, which causes lymphocytosis and mononucleosis are also necessary. An echocardiogram, measurement of height, weight and testing of the oxygen level in the blood are also planned within this check-up, which will indicate whether a cardiac biopsy is required.
