For Alexia!

Description

Humanitarian Foundation BUDI HUMAN - Aleksandar Šapić

raises funds for Aleksia Žigrai (2018).

She laughs out loud and kicks toys. She is as happy as any other baby of her age. But unlike other babies, she has difficulty with crawling.

Alexia was born with TAR syndrome, which is a very rare disease and  one in 100,000 children has it. Because of this rare genetic condition, her hands are shorter and they lack one thin bone in the forearm.

Doctors in Serbia believe that not much can be done and that Aleksia will never be able to eat, dress, draw and write independently. In addition, there are frequent blood transfusions due to low platelet counts. Although there is a high risk of internal bleeding in babies, at eighteen months this risk is reduced and then it will be possible to perform hand surgery with a successful outcome.

The solution was found in Dr. Paley spine and orthopedic institutes with a representative office in Poland, where ulnarisation will be done to Alexia, a cutting edge method that will help her straighten  hands and make using of her thumbs and hands possible. She needs money for the surgery and accommodation during the intervention abroad.

This beautiful blue-eyed girl is a great fighter, always smiling and she is full of life energy.

Let's help Alexia! Let's be humane!
