Maksim was born prematurely but without complications at birth. He went out of the hospital as a healthy baby. After a month, Maksim got an infection - urosepsis, when he was hospitalized at the Children's Internal Clinic in Niš, in the neonatal department. That's when Maksim's fight began. He got his first epileptic seizure, he started to lose weight, to breathe with difficulties, all his reflexes were lost. The EEG finding was very bad and the MRI was regular. He was transferred to University Children Hospital Tiršov for further examination. Metabolic and genetic findings were made but the cause of his condition was not determined.

His parents took him for an EEG and MRI to a clinic in Istanbul. Magnetic resonance imaging has shown to have brain damage and EEG to have infantile spasms that cannot be removed by surgery but only by medication. He got a therapy that kept his seizures to a minimum.

Maksim still can't hold his head on his own, can't sit, move his arms and legs, doesn't talk, doesn't follow moving objects with his look and he is fed by PEG.

For his progress it is necessary to provide intensive physical rehabilitation, orofacial massage and ingestion therapies, aspirator maintenance, laser acupuncture, maintenance of respiratory and orthopedic aids, medicines, supplements, as well as for travel and accommodation expenses in our country and abroad.

Maksim's parents hope that with more intense work, Maksim will overcome all obstacles and have a happier childhood.
