On July 1, 2017, Stefan had an accident in which he injured the cervical part of the spine, vertebrae C5, C6 and C7. As a result of the trauma, Stefan was diagnosed with spastic tetraplegia, deprivation of the upper and lower extremities.

In December 2017, he had a  surgery at the Military Medical Academy, where his C5 and C7 vertebrae were stabilized, while the C6 vertebra was completely replaced. Treatment continued with rehabilitation.

In 2019, Stefan began stem cell treatments at a private clinic in Novi Sad. The further plan of his treatment and rehabilitation is the continuation of stem cell treatment, neurorehabilitation and neurorobotics. In addition, he needs physical therapy, orthopedic aids, drugs and supplements, consumable medical supplies, specialist examinations and diagnostics, as well as funds for travel expenses and accommodation during treatment.

Stefan aims to get out of the wheelchair and take his first step again.
