raises funds for Anđela Miletić (2017).

Anđela is the first child born after a properly maintained pregnancy. Due to the bad assessment of the doctor and the decision not to perform the caesarean section in the given term and also due to the size of the baby, there were many complications at birth. Despite all the facts doctors still decide that Anđela should be born naturally. The birth became complicated and she was born in the 40thweek of pregnancy, as a so-called "stillborn" child who was immediately reanimated and intubated. Due to the clogging of the fetus in the birth canal, the birth was completed by vacuum extraction. Anđela weighed 4800 g and was 61 cm long.

 

Complications at birth left severe consequences on Anđela's health. She got severe asphyxia, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, ganglion damage on the right side of the brain, torn lung tissue and sepsis. As if that wasn't enough, Anđela faces another problem (lesion of the plexus brachialis of her left arm). After numerous examinations, Anđela was finally diagnosed with (dyskinetic cerebral palsy and paralysis of the brachial plexus). Although she has an uneven psychomotor development, she is mentally preserved. Her speech and comprehension are in line with her age, but her motor skills are in a very bad condition, she does not sit independently, crawl or walk. She is being treated at the Special Hospital for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Neurology in Belgrade.

 

In addition to all the problems she faces, Anđela is a cheerful and happy girl. She is persistent and bravely overcomes every obstacle. In order to walk and become more independent, it is necessary to do stem cell treatment in Ukraine. Anđela also raises funds for physical and speech therapy, special education and psychological treatments, for orthopedic aids and for travelling and accommodation costs.
