raises funds for Aleksa Kosanović (2017).

 

Aleksa was born in 2017 in Novi Sad in the 31st week of gestation by emergency caesarean section. He spent a month at the Neonatology department, until he started breathing independently. The first problem he encountered was with his eyesight, so it was solved with surgery.

 

In addition to numerous exercises and therapies, Aleksa's motor development was slow. A new shock followed when, at the age of three, Aleksa was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia and was not able to walk independently. Thus he needs SDR surgery (selective dorsal rhizotomy) which will remove his muscle spasm. Dr. Park, a well-known pediatric surgeon from the St. Louis Clinic in America, gave his parents hope that Aleksa was an excellent candidate and had the potential for independent walking.

 

Aleksa is a cheerful and talkative boy who likes nursery rhymes, and his greatest wish is to play and run with his peers on the playground. So far, his parents have covered all the costs of treatment, but now they need  help from all of us.

 

Aleksa needs funds for surgery, rehabilitation, specialist examinations, physical and special education treatments, orthopedic aids as well as for accommodation costs both in the country and abroad.
