Maša was born prematurely in the 26th gestational week after which she was connected to mechanical ventilation.

At birth she was diagnosed with: obstructive hydrocephalus (G911 Hydrocephalus obstructivus), softening of the brain’s white matter of the newborn (P912 Leukomalacia cerebri neonati), intracranial haemorrhage of the foetus and newborn (P52.9 Haemorrhagea intracranialis fetus et neonati non traumatica, non specificata), retinal disease of premature infants (H35.1 Retinopathy praematuri).

Maša was monitored by a neurosurgeon, neurologist, physiatrist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist and psychologist. A month and a half after birth, surgical treatment was performed due to a brain haemorrhage of the IV degree. Maša also had laser intervention for retinopathy.

Due to the consequences of premature birth, Maša has to undergo intensive physical treatments as well as surgical treatment of both eyes, which will prevent her from going blind.

Until now, her family has financed all the treatment costs, but as the costs increase, the help of humane people’s donations is necessary.

Funds are needed for specialist examinations, physical treatments, eye surgery, vitamins, medications, travel and accommodation costs during the treatment.
