On September 21, 2025, Nikola was involved in a severe traffic accident in Kragujevac, after which he was admitted to the University Clinical Center Kragujevac in critical, life‑threatening condition. The primary diagnosis established after emergency diagnostics was diffuse brain injury (S06.2 Trauma cerebri diffusa).

Following admission, Nikola underwent intensive hospital treatment and multiple medical interventions necessary to stabilize his condition and save his life. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the severe traumatic brain injury left serious consequences — Nikola spent nine months in a wakeful coma, without communication, voluntary movement, or signs of functional recovery.

Due to the extent of neurological damage and prolonged consciousness disorder, highly specialized neurorehabilitation abroad is required, at one of Europe’s leading centers for the rehabilitation of patients with severe traumatic brain injuries. An intensive neurorehabilitation program has already begun, involving a multidisciplinary approach, continuous medical care, and advanced therapeutic protocols.

Nikola’s recovery demands long‑term treatment, daily therapies, and constant supervision by specialists. The costs of treatment are extremely high, and his family cannot cover them alone — therefore, help from compassionate people through donations is urgently needed.

Funds are required for rehabilitation, specialist examinations, medical care, travel expenses, and accommodation during treatment.
